NARS Loose Powder - review

Sometimes I get so caught up in reviewing new products that I try, that I forget about the products that I re-purchase, or my HG (holy grail) products that I am never without in my makeup collection.  One of these is the NARS Loose Powder.

All the info from NARS

Triple milled into a light silky texture, Loose Powder provides sheer, natural coverage to set makeup, soften color and smooth the texture of the skin for an overall radiant complexion. The ultra-smooth formula blends undetectably to absorb excess oils and maintain fresh looking skin with an imperceptible finish. Use to set foundations, wear alone or lightly layered over Primers to enhance a natural complexion.
* Triple-milled powder corrects and softens color * Enriched with Vitamin E * Packaged with a powder puff and both plastic and mesh sifters to provide the finest application possible

My Review

NARS Loose Powder is my go-to product for setting my liquid foundations, because it does it so beautifully - it isn't chalky, is finely milled, and minimises the look of my pores to give me a soft-focus, almost airbrushed finish to my complexion.  It also helps my foundation wear longer.  I apply the powder with the puff provided, as I find that this gives the most flawless finish, and then I quickly brush over with a powder brush to remove any excess.

For my light to medium toned skin (NC25), I use the shade 'Eden' which has yellow undertones.

As with all other NARS products with the characteristic black rubberised packaging, it is prone to getting product adhering to it (which doesn't come off easily, or at all), and by far this one is the worst!  The packaging of my powder isn't black anymore - it's covered in loose powder.  So it's a bit messier to apply, but the end finish is worth it!

NARS Loose Powder is $56 from Mecca Cosmetica in Australia.  For international stockists & further information, visit www.narscosmetics.com
